Farewell Ivana Rest in Peace RIP

Ivana Trump

FAREWELL IVANA  "Rest in Peace"

Friends and family of Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump and mother of three of his children, are mourning the sudden death of the Manhattan socialite and businesswoman.

Roger Stone, a friend of Ivana Trump’s going back 50 years, remembered Ivana as “a gracious lady, a great mother and an incredible hostess.”

“I was sad to hear of her passing,” the former Trump political advisor added.

Designer Dennis Basso told The Post Trump “was a fabulous woman and a great friend of mine for 40 years. To hear this is absolutely devastating.”

Basso said the two “clicked as best friends” at a fashion show in 1983 where they soon “became like family.”

“We attended galas together, we traveled together with the kids; we spent Christmases together in Aspen. We had an unbelievable closeness.”

The designer described Trump as “a smart, determined businesswoman,” who “loved her children, and her grandchildren.”

Ivana Trump’s former publicist, Todd Shapiro, told The Post she will miss his monthly lunches with her and her dog, Tiger, and listening to her “priceless” stories about the ex-President.

She was a force to be reckoned with in the Trump empire, he said.

“She was the anchor of the Trump organization and made the Plaza Hotel into one of the most celebrated places in the world,” Shapiro said. “She ran Atlantic City’s Trump hotels like a five-star general. You couldn’t walk down the street without dozens of people stopping her. At one time she was more famous than Brad Pitt and Angelina combined.

“Even after marriage and a world war divorce, Donald was her best friend,” he said, adding that the exes talked “often.”

Broadway producer Judith Ann Abrams, Trump’s neighbor at her E 64th St. apartment, said she knew Ivana Trump since her divorce to Donald.

“What can I say about her? I think her life would have been easier if she changed her name,” Abrams told The Post.

“It’s the end of an era on this block. She was always very nice to us, very friendly… I’ll miss her.”

Ivana Trump, whom Abrams had last seen about five weeks ago, was “always” in the neighborhood with her dog Tiger.

She never appeared to look sick, she said, and remained composed throughout  the incessant media attention she received as a result of her ex-husband’s presidency.

“She never complained. She was impeccable,” Abrams said. “Her hair was never out of place, she looked beautiful. If I was going through that I’d be in a permanent sweatsuit.”

“He would turn this into a whole publicity — and you wonder why she had a heart attack,” she added.

Former Veteran Fair columnist George Wayne said he was “very close” with Ivana Trump, whom he called his “Godmama Ivana.”

He recalled “great memories,” with her, although at heart he said she was “really quite the recluse.” He specifically remembered being with her the night the US Gulf War invasion kicked off in the early 1990s at the Plaza Hotel, where she reigned “queen” of the establishment.

“I’ll always remember the most exquisite chef dinner in the kitchen and watching CNN as bombs dropped over Kuwait. We sipped Veuve Cliquot, her favorite champagne on that occasion and so many others.

“I was at her last wedding and spent a memorable Christmas weekend in Palm Beach with my Godmama Ivana. May she rest in peace,” Wayne said. “I’m rather numb at the moment. The years of Trump presidency, she was really quite [a] recluse and closed off her circle.”

Author Dick Morris, a veteran political consultant whose father, Eugene Morris, was Donald Trump’s real estate lawyer, remembered having dinner with Donald and Ivana at their Central Park West apartment in 1977 when Ivana was in a cast after breaking her leg.

“I remember Donald maneuvering her so she could get a view of the park and skyline,” he said. “Donald had shown warmth and compassion in helping her.”

“He didn’t take her for granted,” he added.

Morris said Ivana Trump reminded him of Jackie Kennedy, with her “quiet dignity about her.”

Ronna McDaniel, chair of the Republican National Committee, tweeted on Thursday that she was “very saddened to learn of the passing of Ivana Trump. Please keep her children and the entire Trump family in your prayers.”

Former Trump White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also sent her regards to the president’s family.

“My family and I send all of our love and prayers to President Trump @IvankaTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @EricTrump and the entire Trump family for the loss of Ivana Trump. Thinking of you all during this very difficult time,” she wrote.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper offered his “deepest condolences” to the Trump family “and all those in the Trump family for the loss of their mother Ivana Trump today at the age of 73. May her memory be a blessing.”

Ivana Trump, the Czech American mother to Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump, was found dead at her Upper East Side apartment on Thursday afternoon, although her official cause of death remains unclear.

She was married to the former president from 1977 to 1992.

“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend,” Ivana and Donald Trump’s third child Eric Trump said in a statement.

“It’s a very sad day, guys. It’s a very sad day,” Ivana and Donald Trump’s third child Eric Trump said Thursday afternoon as he left his mother’s home with his wife, Lara Trump.

Popeyes Not So Good - What Does Donald Think ?

The DONALD Prefers KFC

KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN

"I DON'T BLAME HIM - So Do I ... KFC is MUCH BETTER Than POPEYE'S"

Popeyes Fried Chicken

"Just So-So"

I used to Love Popeyes Fried Chicken. I think it was much better, back in the day, more than 20 years ago when I first started eating it. Now? "It's jus So-So," not that good. It's actually pracically tasteless, you hardly taste antyhing. The fried chicken at Popeye's is seriously underseasoned, with almost no seasoning at all, not enough salt and not enough pepper, and it seems as though there are not herbs or spices to season the chicken at all, unlike the great taste of KFC Kentuck Fried Chicken and their Secret Recipe of 11 Herbs and Spices (Paprika, Onion Salt, Celery Salt, Dry Sage, ground Allspice, ground Oregano, Chili Powder, Black Pepper, dty Basil and Marjoram).

I must say that the most prominent flavor I tasted with the Popeyes Fried Chicken was "Not the Chicken" but the frying oil, and that's not a good flavor to have at the forefront of anything you eat, espcially Fried Chicken. What a disappointment when I went to the newly opened Popeye's on
6th Avenue in Greenwich Viallage. I was hoping for the best. Number one, as I looked at the menu, it occured to me that in less than 8 years the priced of Popeye's Fried Chicken has doubled to triple in price, compared to what it was not many years ago. Less than 8 years ago, I used to be able to get a special of 2 pieces of Fried Chicken, a Biscuit, and Canjun Fries for just $3.49 ... Now? "Forget about it." I used to be able to get 8 peices of Fried Chicken for $10.99, a pretty good deal. Now those same 8 peices of Fried Chicken at a Popeye's in New York City cost more than twice that much at $28. 49 I saw at the Popeye's on Sixth Avenue today. "A rip-off for a fast-food joint." And it's not even tasty. In  fact it's almost devoid of taste at all, other than tasting the frying oil, which totally dominates all other flavors of the chiken at Poepye's. "So disappointing. I want it to be good. Not!"

Lucky for Popeye's they came out with that tasty Fried Chicken Sandwich a couple years ago. It's really pretty good, but I'm worred if the quality might have gone down since the last time I had one over a year ago at the, then Popeye's on 14th Street (now closed down). The Chicken Sandwich was a bargain at $3.99 each, but sure enough when I was at the Popeye's on SixtH Ave earlier today, I noticed that it has gone up to $4.99, whcih I was actually expecting that it would go up in price. No problem if when I go in next week to try the Popeye's Fried Chicken Sandwich at this new Popeye's on 6th Avenue in Greenwich Village, NYC. If it taste good, I won't mind it going up a dollar. But if it's not good? That won't be good for Popeye's or me going there that much. "We'll see."

And as for the Biscuits, which I always loved, these, like the chicken were not up to snuff. Not that good. A but dry I'd say. And not as tasty as before. Anyway, I wish Popeye's the best, and I hope they improve. Again, "we'll see."

This is What I Got

"NOT VERY GOOD"

"The CHICKEN was Practically TASTELESS"

Not Seasoned Well, and all I could Taste was The Oil more Than The Chicken

"WOW !!! VERY DISAPPOINTING" !!!

One thing that I have to give Popeye's. The Chicken doesn't Look that Good Here (above Picture)

Usually, companies will make The FOOD Look Better Than it Really Is

The 5 Pieces of Chicken I had Did Not Taste Good at All, and Popeye's didn't attempt to make it Look Better than it is. I msut give them that.

"I do hope they get Better. I Need some Good Fried Chicken. And I want POPEYE'S to make it"

PLEASE !!!

Francis Albert Sinatra

LADY is a TRAMP

After Howard Cosell's great introduction. the Wood Herman Band started playing, and Frank kicked off this monumental concert with Lady is a Tramp. Great selection Frank. The Lady is a Tramp is a great up-tempo song and Frank sand it superbly on this night, as he always did in the concerts I myself saw Sinatra perform this and all his great songs. The first time I saw Sinatra was at Carnegie Hall in New York. "Wow, was that mind blowing?" The man was the greatest singer of the 20th Century, and I was so fortunate to see him in concert 7 times, first at Carnegie, them Brendan Byrne Arena in NJ, at Madison Square Garden as this show, and two times at Radio City Music Hall, my favorite.

"FRANK"

Frank Sinatra came out of retirement to play this concert, and boy his millions of fans (me included) could not have been happier. The Main Event was a huge success. Frank sounded great, the concert was broadcast live on the ABC Television Network, and I would be watching with my sister Barbara, and brother Jimmy that night. I still remember talking to my teacher Mr. Phil Toronto, lucky dog was going to the concert, and he was talking about it as we ate lunch in the school cafeteria (Becton Regional HS) that day. Yeah I was excited. Wish I was going, but I was so fortunate to go a few years. Yeah, we had a great time watching this great concert Live on TV, and felt almost like we were there. Thank You Mr. Sinatra. Thanks for this wonderful concert and all you did there after, and especially those that I myself went to see. The memories of going to see you live and in concert still burn strong to this very day, such warm happy memories going to see you flawless shows filled with love and affection. Thinking about them always makes me feel good, happy, and content, and so I shall thank you once again Mr. Sinatra, we love you, and see we still keep "you," your music, and your memory alive. We Love you Frank.

Sinatra: The Main Event was an ABC musical television special starring Frank Sinatrabroadcast on October 13, 1974. The special documents a concert given by Sinatra at Madison Square Garden in New York City, in which Sinatra is accompanied by the Woody Herman band, and introduced by Howard Cosell.
The concert that was broadcast, was the last of a series of six that Sinatra gave at Madison Square Garden in October 1974, the audio from the concerts had also been taped and the highlights would be released as The Main Event – Live. The saxophonist Jerry Doidgson who performed on the concerts felt that the televised performance wasn't as strong as the others as Sinatra's natural pacing of the concert was disrupted by the mechanisms of television production.

My Dads 58 CADILLAC

Screen Shot 2017-03-09 at 3.25.01 PM.png

1958 CADILLAC ELDORADO SEVILLE

.

The 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville one of Harley J. Earl’s finest masterpieces, and was originally penned as a hardtop to incorporate many distinctive design details into the roof. And as Cadillac's flagship model they were frighteningly expensive when new, hence just 855 Eldorado Sevilles were built for 1958. Equipped with Cadillac's famous Tri-Power V-8, four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, optional air ride suspension and every other power accessory imaginable in 1958; there are few cars that offer the same kind of turbine-smooth acceleration and luxurious ride that a 1958 Eldorado can. This example is regarded as one of the finest, most correct and original Sevilles in existence. Discovered in 2011 from the estate of its second owner from new in Arizona, it was an unrestored car just out of almost 40 years in storage with 55,000 original miles, a beautiful original interior and faded original paint. What followed in the hands of its third owner was a painstaking and highly detailed restoration was carried out over a three-year period performed with the goal of preserving the cars incredible originality. The mechanical components were restored to as-new condition or better. The entire braking system is stainless steel sleeved, the engine is balanced and blueprinted with items such as bronze valve guides, hardened valve seats, and a fully ethanol compliant fuel system. The original optional air suspension has been completely rebuilt by the foremost Cadillac air suspension expert, with NOS or flawlessly restored components, and performs better than new. The original Biscay Blue interior, including the carpet, was cleaned, detailed, and reinstalled and every piece of original chrome, stainless and gold anodized trim was restored at great expense to as-new condition, as were its factory original Sabre wheels. There are no reproduction trim, hardware or soft parts on this car. For example, every piece of the original grille was disassembled, wet-sanded until it was flawless, and then properly re-anodized and reassembled. All of the original gold emblems were treated the same way – as today’s reproductions are different in every detail, something unacceptable to the owner of this vehicle. The exterior, having never had so much as a door ding, was stripped to bare metal and refinished in its original Argyle Blue color after having an exact color match prepared by Sikkens. The car has never had any rust and has the original sheet metal throughout. In total this meticulous, multi-year restoration consisted of over 2,500 labor hours to complete. Please pay close attention to the panel fit, the absolute flatness of the paint and every panel, and the integrity of the car in general. It was not a car restored for resale, it was a labor of love and restored to a level of appearance and function not often seen in 1950s Cadillacs due to the tremendous expense of doing so.
